Local History – May 2022

Jennifer James of the National Trust will highlight aspects of the intriguing past of Cliveden and the Astor family who occupied the Taplow estate from 1893 to 1968.

The talk is in Windsor Methodist Church Hall, Alma Road SL4 3HH at 2.30pm.  New attendees are warmly welcome and you do not need to book. Sessions cost £3 to cover the cost of speakers and room hire and is payable at the door.

The nearest borough council car parks are at East Berks College and in Alma Road, details on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead website.

There are one or two parking spaces on site but we ask that these spaces are be left for disabled visitors who are Blue Badge holders.

The church hall is accessible by wheelchair and has a toilet for disabled people.

Please DO NOT COME if you or someone else in your household has COLD or COVID-19 symptoms. Runny nose, headache, fatigue, sneezing or sore throat are now the 5 most common Omicron symptoms (Zoe Covid Study).
