Learning From Experience
We meet monthly, on the 3rd Friday afternoon
Member's Home

This group meets with the idea of improving our informal learning by rescuing it from the almost subliminal process it can be to one that actively enhances our life. The convenor is a keen advocate of the four-stage Learning Cycle by David Kolb, which we use as a guide. There are rules for the meetings which include complete confidentiality for everything shared and discussed – never tell anyone outside the group about an individual member’s item for discussion; the discussion is non-accusational, no-one should need to feel defensive; support and build on any member’s action plans. As Peter says: “Learning is a process which, like any other, benefits from analysis and improvement”. A fitting sentiment for members of u3a – a movement dedicated to life-long learning!
