This 25-strong group holds a fixed monthly meeting on the third Monday of the month in addition to attending night-sky event meetings, outings, lectures etc. The meeting acts as a regular forum to plan outings and share knowledge of the basics about the night sky, general astronomy, observation guidance, and viewing conditions; plus how to get the best out of different mobile phone apps, software, and telescopes members have access to. An outline programme of outings for at least 6 months in advance is drawn up, in addition to taking part in the more impromptu visits to dark sky sites and night-sky events. A WhatsApp group is being planned for speedy communication when needed.
