What a little gem we discovered when we walked round the corner from Faringdon Underground Station. Maggie had booked an Art and Architecture tour of Charterhouse. We found ourselves in Charterhouse Square, a very sedate part of the City of London, entering Tudor style buildings, fronted by a knot garden.
A group of 15 Explore London 2 members went on a ‘City Wander’ in October, starting from Liverpool Street station and walking along Bishopsgate to take the lift up to The Lookout, which has panoramic views of the city, 50 stories up – and it is free!
Explore London 2 have visited Battersea and the Lift 109 Experience, plus Lincoln’s Inn Fields and the Sir John Soane Museum.
Explore London 2 have been very active this month. They visited Regent’s Park which has much to explore, including formal gardens, secret gardens, sunken gardens, lakes and water features and avenues of beautiful trees.

A trip to Highgate on 14th June was attended by 22 people, who travelled there by train and tube to Archway Underground station and then a short walk uphill, through pretty Waterlow Park to the Cemetery. The weather was glorious but not too hot for walking, especially in the shade of the graveyard.
Our Explore London 2 group enjoyed the walk from Hammersmith to Barnes on 16th May.
Our Explore London 2 group had an interesting and enjoyable trip on 13th April, taking the train to Paddington and then a London Waterbus from Little Venice along the Regent Canal to Camden Lock.
